Clear answers about PrimiDS and ToughKey
PrimiDS is in early access. These answers separate the product architecture and offer from details that are not yet confirmed, so you can evaluate the right next question.
Product basics
What is PrimiDS?
PrimiDS is a platform for encrypted storage and secure communications, paired with the ToughKey HSM key. Managed Enrolment is the public software name for the product. Hardware-backed key custody is the design intent. PrimiDS is in early access, and recovery, permissions, and audit are live parts of the system today.
How PrimiDS worksWhat is the ToughKey HSM key?
ToughKey is the physical hardware key in the PrimiDS system. The supplied architecture describes the root cryptographic secret as held in that hardware rather than as a cloud-recoverable credential. Device support is not yet confirmed. Recovery is a live system; join the waitlist to enrol — hardware is not shipping now.
ToughKey and key custodyIs PrimiDS a password manager, authentication key, or encrypted USB drive?
No single label describes the system. Password managers, authentication keys, and encrypted drives each serve different custody and lifecycle jobs in practice. PrimiDS combines software with a physical-key custody model for encrypted storage and secure communications. Choose by the data you protect and the custody you want, not by the category label alone.

Is PrimiDS available now?
No. PrimiDS is in early access. General availability, fulfilment, supported workflows, and launch timing must be confirmed before release. General availability has no confirmed date. Waitlist enrolment is an expression of interest, not product possession or a delivery promise.
PrimiDS availabilityIs PrimiDS FIPS validated or Common Criteria certified?
No. Primi is not currently FIPS 140-2/140-3 or Common Criteria certified. A physical key and architecture language do not equal independent certification or a particular assurance scope. Review the certification evidence on the security page for the exact scope.
Certification statusWhich devices and operating systems are supported?
Supported devices and operating systems are not yet confirmed. Do not infer compatibility from the software-and-hardware model or from a category label on this site alone. Confirm device scope on the published product pages when available; compatibility is confirmed only through those pages.
Product mechanismWhat happens if ToughKey is lost, stolen, or damaged?
Recovery is a live PrimiDS system, not a self-serve replacement-key shipment to your door. Join the waitlist to enrol; that is not possession of a replacement key, and hardware is not shipping now. Recovery procedures are not published on this page.
Recovery boundariesCan Primi recover an encryption key or files?
The architecture is designed so the root cryptographic secret is held in physical hardware rather than as a cloud-recoverable credential. That is not a claim that Primi holds a cloud copy of the root secret in any scenario.
Provider-access boundariesWho the offer is for
What is the planned price?
Planned terms include a $150 USD ToughKey hardware price and PrimiDS SaaS at $10–$30 USD per user per month. These figures are planning inputs, not a binding quote. Billing, taxes, shipping, currency, and regional availability remain unconfirmed before any purchase, binding quote, or checkout path. The approved price book will be published before any purchase path opens.
Offer termsIs there an option for individuals?
Yes, individuals are one of the audience paths, including people considering protection for sensitive personal or will-related files. That use case does not confirm estate execution or beneficiary access. Recovery is a live system; join the waitlist to enrol.
Individual fitIs there a small-business option?
Yes, PrimiDS is intended for owner-led small businesses as well as individuals. Permissions and audit are live parts of the system. Deployment, integrations, support, and device requirements are not yet confirmed, so teams should treat the offer as early access.
Small-business fitCan real-estate brokerages become resellers?
Real estate is the first reseller focus, and brokerages can register partner interest. Signed partners, approved programme terms, training, economics, support, and fulfilment details are not yet confirmed. Register interest only; do not infer an active reseller contract or certified partner status. The partner agreement, not this page, defines programme commitments and commercial responsibilities.

Browse the resources hub for general education on encryption and key custody, or use the contact page for a general enquiry. A dedicated security, privacy, or technical response route is not yet confirmed. Join the early-access waitlist for updates on PrimiDS and ToughKey; that remains the primary recommended next step while product details are being finalised. Owner pages linked from each FAQ answer carry the canonical detail this page summarises, including certification status, offer terms, audience fit, recovery boundaries, and comparison context for encrypted-storage models today.
